This 1880 painting by Julius Sergius von Klever depicts the story of when Christ sent the disciples by boat and remained behind to pray. When night came there arose a storm. In the midst of the storm and darkness the disciples saw Christ walking on the water. Christ calmed the storm and they were comforted.
